“Sweet Honeysuckle is both a promise and a hope for my babies. A promise to never give up on my dreams, and the hope that they never will either,”
From as young as I can remember and as far back as pictures will prove, I have always had a love for baking. I have always been drawn to the art and the craft of baking. After I graduated my boyfriend at the time (now husband) and I picked up and moved to Chicago so I could attend the French Pastry School. It was a long six months away from home but the skills and techniques I learned were invaluable to my future as a professional baker. We moved back to Georgia and I jumped straight into decorating wedding cakes. I loved the hustle of the job and the smiles on customer’s faces when they saw their ideas come to life. Over the next six years I worked for several well-known bakeries and cafes around Atlanta, still refining my craft.
During this time, we were blessed with twins (we’ve since added another set of twins to our family!) and married the man who has always believed in me and my dreams! With Zach’s full support and encouragement, I have worked the last several years, day and night (mostly late at night once the kids have gone to bed), to grow my business into one that could sustain me financially. I have always dreamed of owning my own bakery and being able to spend more time with my family and that dream has finally become a reality.
The name, Sweet Honeysuckle Bakeshop was inspired by my children. The honeysuckle is a June birth month flower, the month my two oldest, Jaxson and Ava, were born. Sweet Honeysuckle is both a promise and a hope for my babies. A promise to never give up on my dreams, and the hope that they never will either.
